It’s Perfectly Fine to Break Some Rules to Keep Kids Safe Online

Protection of children is a priority for any parent, with them willing to go lengths to keep their youngsters safe from the social evils of the world. However, despite giving kids access to web-connected devices like iPhones and Android phones, they simply don’t take enough necessary measures to ensure that granting digital and internet privileges at such a young age don’t end up doing more harm than good. One of the underlying factors behind this is that parents have become overly conscious and concerned about the potential backlash and judgments. This is the thinking cycle parents need to break in order to keep their kids safe, especially in world that exists online. Brimming with all kinds of threats, cyberspace is not the ideal place for kids to be in. However, keeping them away from it is easier said than done.

An Obvious Solution to the Problem

The perfect solution for keeping kids safe in the digital age is to deploy monitoring apps. Unfortunately, many parents feel reluctant to use them as they fear that they’ll be accused of violating their kids’ privacy. What they need to realize is that breaking some rules to protect youngsters from harm is perfectly fine, especially in today’s time when the word privacy seems to have become a rather subjective and abstract term. People are sharing everything about themselves on social media, including personal pictures and videos. Knowing that, it is advised that parents capitalize on the situation and install a monitoring tool like http://www.mobistealth.com/iphone-spy on their kids’ web-connected devices to keep them away from ominous elements prowling the web, some of which have been discussed below.

Predators

Predators lurk online, hunting for complacent kids whom they can easily manipulate. They begin talking to them and befriend them. Then they get them involved in multiple activities like sharing inappropriate picture and videos, doing drugs, drinking alcohol, committing small time crimes, etc. Kids think it’s a cool thing to do, so they continue to go with the flow without realizing how damaging they can be. If parents keep an eye on their kids’ digital activities, they are able to know what kind of people their kids are talking to, what kind of stuff they share, what kind of language they use, etc. This makes it so much easier to keep the threats at bay.

Porn Addiction

This is another huge problem that constantly threatens kids as they get connected to the web. Porn addiction is a huge issue even at a young age, and it continues to grow worse as time goes on. Kids get more and more involved in such content, eventually reaching a point from where it becomes very difficult for them to fight the temptation.

Gaming

Gaming is another problem in the modern day. they expose kids to violence, sexual content, drugs, and crude language. Whatever they see in these games, they try to imitate it in real life, which rarely turns out right. Knowing that, it is important for parents to keep check on their kids’ devices and see what kind of games they’ve downloaded. If something inappropriate or harmful is detected, it needs to be removed from their phone immediately. Kids would surely put up a resistance at first, but soon they will realize that it was done for their own good.

Cyberbullying

Bullies now follow kids around all the time with the help of internet. They bully them at school and then they continue on to bully them even when they’re home through different social networking platforms like WhatsApp, Kik, Viber, and LINE. If you have an eye on these platforms, you will be able to save your kids from a whole lot of agony.
